Kayleen Wichlinski, RD, CD

Kayleen-WichlinskiKayleen earned her undergraduate degree with a double major in Dietetics and Foods & Nutrition in Business from Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN. Kayleen’s dietetic internship was completed at the Bay Pines Veteran’s Affairs Health Care System in Bay Pines, FL where she gained experience in nutritional management of diabetes, renal disease, heart disease, cancer and gastrointestinal disorders with a focus on weight loss/management. Prior to her internship, she worked for the International Food Information Council (IFIC) in Washington D.C. as a nutrition consultant, deciphering the latest nutrition research/hot topics and filtering nutrition fact vs. fiction for the public consumer.

Nutrition and health has always proved significance in her life. “My mom is also a dietitian, so I was born with fervor for the profession.” Kayleen has great enthusiasm when it comes to nutrition and well-being. She is most interested in culinary nutrition and plans to attend culinary school to further develop her passion for nutritious foods/recipes and their direct correlation to disease prevention and improved health/vigor. Kayleen continues to develop her skill for healthy cooking by modifying recipes for increased nutrition and maximized palatability. Personal interests include daily running, yoga, cooking/baking, painting, traveling and continually learning within the realm of nutrition. Currently, she works as the Training Dietitian at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center.
