Chiropractic
Chiropractic focuses on maintaining optimal health naturally, so that the body is better able to resist disease and injury, rather than simply treating the symptoms of disease. When bones of the spine become misaligned, they can distort flow from the brain to the body. Without proper information from the nervous system, the body cannot function at its full potential. Chiropractors gently correct these misalignments (or vertebral subluxations) to correct nerve interference and improve the body’s ability to control and coordinate its many functions.
Dr. Kurt Huemmer, DC
Dr. Huemmer first experienced chiropractic’s extraordinary healing benefits when he was 12 years old.
“I was a very active kid that played baseball and participated in track meets during the summer. For some unknown reason, I started experiencing pain in my left hip and leg when I tried to run. I had to drag my leg or gallop to avoid the pain. When my mother realized something was wrong, off we went to the pediatrician. They took x-rays, but they had no idea why I felt so much pain if I tried to run. I was told to rest the leg and return for a follow up visit if I didn’t improve. A few weeks later I was back in my pediatrician’s office and he still didn’t know what to do with me. As we were leaving the appointment my mother said, “That’s it, were going to see the chiropractor.” After my first adjustment I was able to lift my leg without any pain. From that point forward, I was taken to the chiropractor first with any injury.”
Dr. Huemmer received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Wisconsin—Whitewater and his Doctorate from Palmer College of Chiropractic, where he graduated Cum Laude. In 2002, Dr. Huemmer founded Downtown Milwaukee Chiropractic in order to deliver quality chiropractic care to the Milwaukee area.
“We offer people a different way to think about their health, and more importantly, not just feeling better but being healthier.” In addition to helping people get out of pain, Dr. Huemmer helps people to improve their eating and exercise habits as well.
“That’s enough about me. Ask the front desk for a consultation appointment to figure out how chiropractic can help you.”
