Douglas Bertram, L.Ac., MTCM
Douglas Bertram, L.Ac. has been assessing and treating orthopedic disorders for the past twelve years and is a Nationally Certified Diplomate of Oriental Medicine from the NCCAOM. He offers a highly specialized method of spinal balancing incorporating acupuncture and hands on manual therapy; effective for treating spinal injury and optimizing the performance of endurance athletes. Hisextensive training in structural bodywork led him to Naropa University in Boulder, CO, where he earned his B.A. in Contemplative Psychology. While at Naropa, Douglas had the opportunity to study Shambhala Meditation with first generation students of Naropa’s founder Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche.
He completed a four-year Master’s program at Five Branches University in Santa Cruz, CA in Traditional Chinese Medicine where he now holds a faculty teaching position.
Douglas is also the developer of a unique modality that combines orthopedic bodywork and Traditional Chinese Medicine, an innovation he calls Structural Elements.
As an avid runner and triathlete Douglas is committed to helping people realize their body’s potential.
