Acupuncture
Developed in China, acupuncture is a 3,000-year-old system of medicine that is based upon principles of homeostasis. Very fine needles are placed in specific locations of the body and in patterns that augment natural healing energy known as “Qi.” Practiced worldwide - especially in Asia, Europe and Canada - acupuncture is most often used in western medicine to control pain, but can also be used as an adjunct to other medical treatments for many disorders.
