Mind - Body
Our mind-body classes offer the tools to help you achieve a high state of focused performance. Drawing from ancient and modern practices, our instructors will identify your latent strengths and develop them to full capacity. We offer various levels and styles of yoga classes including Hatha, Vinyassa Flow, Sun Salutations and Prenatal Yoga. Other classes offered are Pilates, Circuit Club and seasonal classes such as Outdoor Action and Yin-Yang on the Roof.
Yoga

Hatha
Hatha yoga focuses on learning the poses (asanas) that are central to most forms of yoga. Breathing in conjunction with movement is emphasized. Benefits include increased tone, strength, flexibility, balance, relaxation and mind-body awareness.
The classes listed below are Hatha Yoga classes specifically designed to support the individual needs of participants-beginner to advanced.
Level I: Hatha Yoga Basics, Hatha Flow
Level II: Beyond Basics, Happy Hour Hatha, Vinyasa Flow
Yoga Fusion (All levels)
A fusion of Hatha yoga, core strengthening and repetitive movements exercises to promote joint stability and mobility. We will make use of stability balls, blocks and straps for support in this class. Great class for beginner to intermediate participants.
Vinyasa Flow ( Levels 2 & 3 )
Vinyasa flow links breath and movement promoting mindful harmony of mind, body and spirit. This class will focus on the dynamic sequence of flowing yoga postures built around Sun Salutations A and B. Experience an increase in energy and strength while building heat in the body. Learn to refine postures and deepen your connection to your body. More advanced back bends, inversions and balances will be explored. Remember to always work at your own pace.
Hatha Flow
Build strength and flexibility while linking and harmonizing body and mind. This class will focus on asanas (postures), pranayama (breath awareness) and authenticity of movement.
Sun Salutations (Level 2)
Start the day with a vigorous practice of Sun Salutations. This dynamic class will warm and energize the body. A series of salutations will be linked to the rhythm of the breath and will include a variety of standing and seated postures and svasana (relaxation). This class is open to advanced beginners/continuing students.
Renew and Restore (All levels)
This hour-long class integrates moderate strengthening postures with
restorative and meditative asanas. Partnered with breath work and conscious
relaxation, this class is designed to detoxify and de-stress the mind and
body. A well-balanced yoga session to inspire inner harmony and peace while quieting the mind. All levels welcome.
Yin-Yang (All levels)
A class using both elements of movement and stillness. The practice will consist of a strong standing series with the combination of hip opening elements. The intention of the class is to build strength and gain flexibility in holding postures 2-3 minutes in length.
Upside Now (Levels 2-3)
We invite you to come Saturday afternoons to compliment all that you do. The class will offer integraion and understanding of poses. The class will target opening the back side (i.e. tight hamstrings and hips) with a long inverted closing sequence to help you feel amazingly well!
Urban Yogi (All levels)
Come Tuesday mornings for a strong vinyasa (flow) yoga, multi-level class. This class will cover classical and traditional sun salutes and will be based in standing poses. The class will offer twist, back bends, hip opening and inversions. A great way to start your day right!
Prenatal Yoga ($120 for a six-week punch card)
Prepare. Relax. Breathe.
The prenatal yoga program at Invivo is designed to prepare you for labor and delivery. Classes include breathing and relaxation techniques, as well as poses to promote muscle toning and strengthening, balance and circulation.
Weekly prenatal yoga classes are led by instructors trained to work with the unique experiences of pregnancy. Each class includes restorative poses, adjustments and liberal use of support props. A prenatal yoga class is also a great way to meet other pregnant women and feel a sense of community in a supportive and holistic environment.
Pilates
Pilates is designed to uniformly strengthen the core muscles - abdominals, lower back and pelvis. The exercises develop increased mental focus and body awareness. Benefits include increased upper and lower body strength, protection of the low back from injury and improved overall posture.
Pilates Basics
Introductory Pilates fundamentals and beginner exercises with an emphasis on proper breathing, alignment and form. All beginner students of Pilates are encouraged to attend. No prior experience is required.
Cardio/Strength Training Classes
Outdoor Action
It’s time to get outdoors and in summer shape! This will be an action packed hour that will include high gear hikes on the Beer Line Trail and brisk riverside walks. We add in toning and strengthening exercises using your own body weight and any railings, benches and/or steps we come across on the path. The fresh air, group dynamics and partner work make this a fun and inviogorating class for everyone! ALL FITNESS LEVELS WELCOME! Class will be held rain or shine! If weather isn’t optimal, we will hold Circuit Club in the fitness center.
Circuit Club
This class is designed to work on cardio respiratory conditioning while improving strength and toning muscles. We will be in constant motion alternating between cardio and strength intervals and then cool-down with a relaxing stretch. Come join the club, class will be in the fitness center!
Functional Fitness
In this class, you will utilize your own body weight to prove that no matter where you are, (at home, at they gym or traveling) a good workout is only a small amount of motivation away. This class will take you through a number of functional training exercises (mimicking movements from your daily activities) and progressions that will allow you to fine-tune your workout.
